Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate is an oil-soluble derivative of vitamin C that is heat and light resistant and can be easily used in cosmetics. It has excellent percutaneous absorption and effectively converts to free vitamin C in the skin. It resists discoloration and degradation while retaining all the biological activity of L-ascorbic acid.
Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate reduces the formation of melanin by inhibiting tyrosinase activity and acts as an antioxidant. It also reduces the formation of wrinkles, brightens the skin, improves radiance and gives the skin an even tone. Collagen production is increased, and the skin is protected from environmental damage.
